Who we are
nordaccounting.ai is operated by Nord Accounting and Consultancy Limited, licensed by Masdar City Free Zone, Abu Dhabi (licence MC 14624), Smart Station, First Floor, Incubator Building, Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. These terms apply to your use of the website and to the launch list, and — from 1 January 2027 — to your use of the NORD software alongside the subscription terms. By using the website or joining the launch list you accept these terms. By using the website, joining the launch list or opening an account you confirm you are at least 18 and are acting for yourself or for a business you are authorised to represent.
The launch list is not an account
Signing up before 1 January 2027, and confirming your address with the link we email you, adds your email to the launch list. It does not open an account, start a subscription or create a contract of sale. On 1 January 2027 we send everyone on the list the link to create an account under the subscription terms published that day.
The Founding terms
The Founding offer described on the Pricing page is kept for the businesses on the launch list and applied from the day an account starts, under the subscription terms published on 1 January 2027. Before that date it is a stated intention, not a binding contract, and we may change the software, its plans and its prices before launch. The Founding offer and the first free VAT-return review apply to the first 50 businesses to confirm their place on the launch list; after them, a waiting place, and we write when one opens. On every plan, the first paid month is refunded on request within 30 days of the date you paid it. The refund covers the first paid month only, is requested in writing to info@nordaccounting.ai, and is given once per customer; it sits alongside your mandatory rights under the UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Law 15 of 2020) and does not reduce them.
What the website is, and is not
The website describes the NORD software as it stands on the date shown on each page. Screens shown are of a sample company with fictional data and may change before 1 January 2027. The deadlines, penalties and tax rules quoted on the website are published for information, with their sources and the date they were verified; they are general information, not tax, accounting, audit or legal advice for your business, and you should not act on them without taking your own advice. NORD is accounting software. NORD is not an audit firm, and it does not represent you before the Federal Tax Authority; you review and submit your own returns.
The NORD adviser (NORD AI)
NORD includes an adviser (NORD AI) that answers questions about your own books. Its answers are generated from the entries in your account and are information only. They are not tax, accounting, audit, bookkeeping, investment, financial-planning or legal advice, and using the adviser does not create any advisory, professional or fiduciary relationship between you and NORD. The adviser can be wrong or incomplete, and any figures, projections or forecasts it produces are estimates, not assurances. You must check its answers against your own records, and take your own professional advice, before you rely on them; you are responsible for any decision you take. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NORD is not liable for your reliance on the adviser’s output or on any projection or forecast it produces; this sits with the Disclaimer and the Liability cap below. This does not mean we may knowingly give you output we know to be defective, and it does not exclude any liability the law does not allow us to exclude.
Using the website
You may read and share the website. You may not copy it to pass off as your own, interfere with it or its security, probe or scrape it, or use the sign-up form for anyone but yourself or your own business. The text, design, screens and marks on the website are owned by NORD or its licensors and are protected by law; nothing here grants you any right in them beyond reading and sharing the pages. When the software opens, you also agree not to use it to break any law, to store or send unlawful content, to probe or breach its security, to reverse engineer it, or to resell access without our written agreement. We may suspend access from an address, or an account, that abuses the website, the form or the service.
Service availability and changes
We may change, add to, suspend or withdraw parts of the website or the service — for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons. The website and the launch list are provided without any guaranteed level of availability. From 1 January 2027 the service carries no guaranteed uptime unless a separate service-level agreement says so. Where a service-level agreement offers service credits, those credits are your sole and exclusive remedy for that availability shortfall only; they do not limit or apply to a claim for loss of data, a security incident or a breach of confidentiality. We give notice of planned maintenance where we reasonably can.
Your data and your backups
You own the data you enter into NORD. You are responsible for its accuracy, for having the right to provide it (including anyone else’s personal data), and for keeping your own copies of it. We keep backups as part of running the service, but NORD is not a record keeper of last resort and is not responsible for restoring data you have not kept your own copy of, except to the extent of our own backup obligations under the subscription terms. Before 1 January 2027 the website and the launch list hold only the data described in the privacy notice.
Third-party services
NORD relies on third-party providers to run, including Cloudflare (hosting, the sign-up form, the anti-abuse check and email), PostHog (measuring how the website is used) and, for the adviser, an AI provider. We choose and oversee them with care, but we are not liable for their acts, outages or changes beyond our reasonable control. Where those providers’ own terms apply to you, your use is also subject to them.
Export and sanctions
You will not use, or let anyone use, the website or the service in breach of UAE export-control or sanctions law, or of any other export or sanctions law that applies to you, and you confirm you are not a person such laws prohibit us from dealing with.
Disclaimer
The website, the launch list and the service are provided “as is” and “as available”, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or that the website or the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. The information on the website, including the deadlines check, the sample-company demo and the adviser’s answers, is general information from the sources, entries and dates shown; it is not advice, and you act on it at your own risk. This disclaimer does not exclude anything the law does not allow us to exclude (see Liability).
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, however it arises, even if we were told such loss was possible.
- A claim for loss, corruption, or unauthorised access to or disclosure of your data is a direct claim. It is not treated as “indirect” or “consequential” loss and is not swept into the exclusion above; it is dealt with under the cap and the carve-outs below. Nothing in this section purports to limit or exclude any liability we have to a data subject under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021).
- Our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the website, the launch list, the service and these terms — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under statute or otherwise — is limited in the aggregate to the total fees you have actually paid to us, if any, in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Because the website and the launch list carry no fee before 1 January 2027, that amount is nil before then, and your sole and exclusive remedy is to stop using the website and leave the launch list.
- Once you hold a paid subscription, your sole and exclusive remedy for any claim arising out of or in connection with the service, these terms or the subscription terms is a refund of the subscription fees you have actually paid for the period in question, up to the cap above; this is aligned with the 30-day first-month refund in the Founding terms.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of the United Arab Emirates, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for our gross negligence or wilful misconduct (which includes a deliberate or grossly negligent breach of our confidentiality obligations), and your mandatory rights under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and the UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Law 15 of 2020). Where the law gives you a right that cannot be waived, that right stands in full.
Indemnity
By you. You agree to indemnify and hold NORD harmless from any claim, loss, liability or reasonable cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the website, the sign-up form or the service, your submission of anyone else’s personal data without the right to do so, the data or content you enter, or your infringement of any law or third-party right in connection with your use. We will tell you promptly of any such claim and you may take over its defence with competent counsel, provided any settlement that affects NORD has our prior written agreement.
By us (service IP). If a third party claims that the NORD service, used by you as we provide it and in line with these terms, infringes that party’s intellectual-property right in the United Arab Emirates, we will defend you against that claim and pay the damages a court finally awards or we agree in settlement, provided you tell us promptly, let us control the defence and settlement, and give us reasonable help. This does not apply where the claim arises from your data or content, from your changing the service, from your combining it with something we did not supply, or from your use after we asked you to stop. If the service is found, or in our view is likely, to infringe, we may at our choice obtain the right for you to keep using it, change it so it no longer infringes, or end the affected part and refund the fees for the unused period. This paragraph, and that refund, are your sole and exclusive remedy for intellectual-property infringement by the service, and our liability under it is subject to the cap above.
Confidentiality
Each of us may receive non-public information from the other. Each will use the other’s non-public information only to perform these terms, will protect it with reasonable care, and will not disclose it except to people who need it and are under a like duty, or where the law or a regulator requires (with notice where lawful). This does not cover information that is or becomes public through no fault of the receiver, or that the receiver already held or develops independently. Your personal data is also governed by the privacy notice.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to the website, the launch list or the service if you breach these terms, fail to pay, or use any of them in a way that risks harm, abuse or a breach of law; where it is reasonable to do so first, we give notice and a chance to put it right. You may leave the launch list at any time by replying “stop” to any email, and — once the service is live — may cancel your subscription as set out below. On termination of a paid subscription we give you a 30-day window to export your data and then delete it from live systems, in line with the retention periods in the privacy notice, except where the law requires us to keep it for longer.
Subscription terms (from 1 January 2027)
From 1 January 2027 the NORD software is offered on a paid subscription. The full subscription terms (and a data processing addendum) are published on that day and govern your use of the software; the summary here states what will apply and does not replace them. Plans and prices are shown on the Pricing page in AED excluding VAT, with 5% VAT added at checkout. A 14-day free trial is available with no card. The subscription renews automatically for successive periods until you cancel; you can cancel in any month, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. The first paid month on any plan is refunded on request within 30 days of paying it, as in the Founding terms. We may change prices for future periods on at least 30 days’ notice before the change takes effect on renewal; the Founding price lock stays as stated for its 12 months. For the data you enter about your own clients and staff, you are the controller and NORD is the processor under the data processing addendum. The Disclaimer, Liability, Indemnity, Confidentiality, Your data and your backups, Service availability, Third-party services, Suspension and termination, Force majeure and General sections apply to the subscription, and the liability cap and the sole-and-exclusive remedy — a refund of the subscription fees actually paid, up to the fees paid in the prior 12 months — apply in the same way, subject to the same mandatory-law carve-outs.
Force majeure
Neither of us is liable for a failure or delay caused by an event beyond its reasonable control, including the outage or failure of a provider (such as Cloudflare, PostHog, the AI provider, or an internet, power or telecommunications provider), act of government, change in law, war, civil unrest, strike, epidemic, or natural event. The affected party will take reasonable steps to limit the effect and resume as soon as it can. This does not excuse an obligation to pay amounts already due.
General
- Severability. If any term is found invalid or unenforceable, it is limited or removed to the least extent needed, and the rest of these terms stay in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right once, that is not a waiver of it, and we may still enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These terms, the privacy notice, and — from 1 January 2027 — the subscription terms are the whole agreement between you and us on their subject and replace any earlier understanding. Nothing in this paragraph limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Assignment. We may assign, transfer or novate our rights and obligations, for example on a reorganisation or a sale of the business, on notice to you and provided your rights under these terms are not reduced. You may not assign yours without our written agreement.
- Survival. The sections that by their nature should continue after these terms end do so, including What the website is and is not, The NORD adviser, Disclaimer, Liability, Indemnity, Confidentiality, Your data and your backups, Governing law, and any fees already due.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, the website or the service, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Abu Dhabi. Nothing here removes a mandatory consumer right to bring a claim where the law allows.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms in force when you signed up to the launch list are kept with your consent record.
